Wentworth Miller est né en Angleterre et a grandi à New York. Un nom pareil aurait pu être un handicap, mais il lui vaudrait plutôt de rester en mémoire, surtout associé à son physique.
Diplômé de l'université de Princeton en littérature, il s'installe à Hollywood en 1995 en attendant la gloire. Sa première apparition, il l'obtient dans la série télé Buffy contre les vampires en 1998, avant de cumuler des figurations dans d'autres programmes, notamment Urgences. Très présent sur le petit écran, il s'essaie tout de même à la pellicule dans différents films aux côtés de stars comme Nicole Kidman ou Anthony Hopkins. Mais ce n'est pas dans les salles obscures qu'il trouve le succès. En 2005, Prison Break débarque sur la Fox et devient immédiatement un phénomène. Wentworth y tient le rôle principal, un brillant ingénieur qui se fait incarcérer pour pouvoir faire évader son frère, condamné à mort. Une particularité n'échappe à personne : son incroyable tatouage sur tout le torse. Depuis Prison Break, Wentworth Miller est adulé par des hordes de filles en furie et sa belle gueule participe largement du buzz fait autour de la série.
